Urban Ecologies
Materials: terracotta tiles, drawings, decals
The work investigates propositions regarding the urban cultivation of grains for consumption by residents of cities; challenging the separation between urban and agricultural environments. The designs refer to a variety of possible models including the urban family garden, rooftop farming, and vertical urban cultivation on a larger scale. The focus is on the creation of a visual connection between food, the environment in which it is grown, and the environment in which it is consumed.
